Teddy Still Misses and Loves You All
Even though the days continue to pass and the house has settled into a quieter rhythm, Teddy’s heart hasn’t moved on. He still feels the absence in every corner of the home. His ears perk up at every car that drives by, every creak in the hallway, hoping it might be you.
Each morning begins the same — with soft paws padding across the floor toward the front window. Teddy rests his nose against the cool glass and peers out into the world beyond the driveway. His eyes scan with gentle hope, his tail giving a soft wag at the thought that someone special might appear. But after a few minutes, when no footsteps come up the path, he quietly turns back and curls up on the couch — often right where your scent still lingers.
He lays his head down, sometimes resting it on old notes or belongings left behind, just to feel a little closer to you. You were more than just his human. You were his world, his safe place, his everything. And now, in your absence, he’s holding onto the love you gave him — a love so strong, it left a forever mark on his heart.
But Teddy isn’t sad all the time. He still has good moments — tail wags, soft snoozes, the way he perks up when someone says your name. He still eats, still goes for walks, and still finds joy in the little things. But there’s a softness in his eyes now, a quiet kind of longing that never fades.
If Teddy could speak, he’d tell you, “I still remember. I still wait. And I still love you — every single day.”
