Teddy’s Rollercoaster Few Weeks: A Story of Strength and Hope
It’s been a whirlwind of stress, fear, and waiting — the kind that wears down even the strongest hearts. For the past few weeks, our sweet Teddy has been under close watch after we discovered a mass on his spleen. As any pet parent knows, the moment you hear the word “mass,” your heart drops. The world stops. You immediately fear the worst, and every second until you have answers feels like an eternity.
Teddy has always been our brave boy — strong, gentle, and full of heart. But even he couldn’t mask the confusion and discomfort during this time. Vet visits became more frequent, and tests more invasive. Through it all, he remained resilient, looking to us for comfort, tail wagging when he could, and always holding onto his little stuffed bear as if it brought him the reassurance he needed. That bear hasn’t left his side.
We waited anxiously for over a week after his biopsy, caught in a limbo of hope and dread. There were sleepless nights, quiet moments where tears would sneak out, and days where we tried to pretend everything was okay — for his sake, and ours.
And then came the call: the biopsy showed no evidence of cancer. The flood of relief that followed is indescribable. We cried, hugged Teddy tightly, and whispered words of gratitude a thousand times over. But as much as this is a moment to celebrate, we’re also reminded we’re not completely out of danger yet.
The mass is still there, and it’s something we’ll continue to monitor closely. More tests, more vet visits, and constant awareness will be our reality for a while. But for now, we’re breathing easier.
This photo says it all — Teddy, with his “strongman” recovery cone, proudly holding his little “Get Well Soon” bear, reminding us all of his quiet strength and determination. He’s a fighter. He’s our hero. And he’s surrounded by love every step of the way.
Thank you to everyone who’s reached out, prayed, or sent good thoughts. Please keep them coming. Teddy is one incredible dog, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure he keeps shining his light for years to come. ❤️
