Beloved When Calls the Heart Crew Member Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Pelletier Passes Away at 53
The When Calls the Heart family is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Nathaniel “Nate” Pelletier, who passed away unexpectedly last month at the age of 53.
Though he made on-screen appearances as a taxi driver in several episodes of the beloved Hallmark series — which stars Lori Loughlin and Jack Wagner — Nate was most cherished behind the scenes. As a devoted member of the transportation department, he played a vital role in maintaining and driving the show’s iconic vintage vehicles, bringing authenticity and charm to the period drama.
Nate passed away at his home in Langley, British Columbia, on April 11, according to his obituary.
Martin Cummins, who portrays Henry Gowen on the series, shared a heartfelt tribute to his late colleague and friend, painting a picture of Nate’s quiet impact and lasting legacy.
“I just came back from a ride on the bike Gord and Nate put together for the girls,” Cummins wrote. “And now I’m taking shade in Mexico under the awning Nate helped me figure out in the woods near the old cabin.”
Nate Pelletier’s memory lives on in the friendships he forged, the care he put into his work, and the warm spirit he brought to every mile of the journey.
