Federal Investigation Into ABC10
Shooting Outside ABC10 Leads to Federal Charges
Federal authorities have charged Anibal Hernandez-Santana, 64,
after shots were fired outside Sacramento’s ABC10 (KXTV) building on September 19, 2025.
Several rounds hit the property, causing minor damage but no injuries, the Department of Justice confirmed.
Federal Custody and Charges
Initially arrested and released on bail, Hernandez-Santana was later re-arrested on federal charges
of interfering with licensed broadcast communications and discharging a firearm within a restricted zone.
Officials said the case is being treated as a public safety matter, not politically motivated.
Evidence Found
Investigators found handwritten notes naming public figures like Pam Bondi, Kash Patel,
and Dan Bongino, along with online posts showing political frustration but no confirmed threats.
Aftermath
The shooting occurred a day after a protest over Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s suspension.
ABC10 has resumed operations under tighter security as the federal investigation continues.
