Biden Judge Gives Trump 48-H

Judge Orders Trump to Justify National Guard Deployment to Chicago

Biden-appointed federal judge has given President Donald Trump’s administration 48 hours to

justify its decision to deploy National Guard troops to Chicago, deepening a

legal and political battle between the White House and Illinois leaders.

U.S. District Judge April Perry, appointed in 2022, issued the order after

Illinois filed a lawsuit to block the move, calling it “an unlawful act of political retaliation.”

For now, Perry declined to halt the deployment, allowing 200 Texas National Guard troops to arrive by Wednesday to assist federal law enforcement.

Trump defended the action, saying, “We have an Insurrection Act for a reason… I won’t hesitate to use it.”

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker called the move a “premeditated escalation,” while Attorney General Kwame Raoul argued,

“There is no insurrection in Chicago — only a president abusing his power.”

A full hearing is set for Thursday. Legal experts say the case could redefine presidential authority under the Insurrection Act.
