Nicole Kidman forced to stop filming
Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Intense Filming Experience in Babygirl
Nicole Kidman has revealed the emotional and physical challenges she faced while filming her new erotic thriller Babygirl.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show,
the 58-year-old actress admitted that she once had to stop filming because she “didn’t want to orgasm anymore.”
In the A24 film, Kidman plays a powerful businesswoman who risks her marriage and career through a passionate affair with her young intern,
portrayed by Harris Dickinson. Directed by Halina Reijn,
the story was inspired by a real woman who had never experienced an orgasm in her 25-year marriage.
“There was a lot of sharing, trust, and then frustration,” Kidman said. “There were times when we were shooting where I was like,
‘I don’t want to orgasm any more… Don’t touch me.’”
She described the experience as leaving her “ragged,”
though her performance later earned a seven-minute standing ovation and the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.
Babygirl went on to gross over $60 million and was named one of the Top 10 Films of 2024 by the National Board of Review.
