Karoline Leavitt Shreds Obama After His
Obama Criticizes Kimmel Suspension
Former President Barack Obama condemned the indefinite suspension of
Jimmy Kimmel Live, writing on X: “After years of complaining about cancel culture, the
current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level…
This is precisely the kind of government coercion that the First Amendment was designed to prevent.”
Leavitt Responds
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed Obama’s comments.
“With all due respect to former President Obama, he has no
idea what he’s talking about,” she told Kayleigh McEnany on Saturday in America.
ABC’s Decision
Leavitt stressed that “the decision to fire Jimmy Kimmel and to cancel his show came from executives at ABC,” not the White House.
She said she informed President Trump of the suspension while abroad, and he “had no idea this was happening.”
Network Action
Disney confirmed the show’s indefinite suspension, while Nexstar and Sinclair also dropped the program following Kimmel’s controversial remarks.
