Today Happy Birthday, Teddy!
Today isn’t just another day—it’s a day of celebration, love, and gratitude, because it’s Teddy’s birthday! Our golden boy, our fluffy comedian, our cuddle king, and the heart of our family is one year older, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the gift of having him in our lives.
From the very first day Teddy bounded into our home, tail wagging and eyes sparkling with curiosity, he changed everything. He wasn’t just a puppy—he was joy wrapped in fur, a ball of energy who could turn even the dullest days into laughter-filled adventures. And now, years later, he’s still the same Teddy—playful, goofy, gentle, and so deeply loving. His birthday isn’t just about cake or treats (though he’ll certainly be spoiled with both); it’s about recognizing the light he has brought to everyone who knows him.
The party began this morning with what Teddy loves best: attention. He was greeted with extra hugs, scratches behind the ears, and a breakfast that was just a little fancier than usual. His tail wagged non-stop as he looked around, probably wondering why everyone was smiling at him so much. But Teddy deserves all of it—and more.
We decorated with balloons, set out a special dog-friendly cake, and even wrapped up a few new toys that squeak (his absolute favorite). Watching his face light up as he pawed at the wrapping paper was priceless. In true Teddy fashion, he had more fun with the crinkly paper than with the toy itself at first—but eventually, the new toy was carried proudly through the house like a prize.
Birthdays are milestones, and for Teddy, this one feels especially meaningful. After the ups and downs he’s faced, from health scares to quiet, tired days, celebrating his life feels like the greatest gift of all. His resilience, his ability to love no matter what, and his gentle presence are reminders of how precious time with him truly is. Each wag of his tail, each bark, each cuddle on the couch is a little miracle, and today we celebrate every one of those moments.
The best part of the day, though, isn’t the cake or the toys—it’s the love. Family and friends, near and far, who know Teddy and follow his journey, have sent kind words, blessings, and birthday wishes. And though Teddy may not understand the words, he feels it. Dogs always know when they are loved, and Teddy feels it in abundance today.
As the sun sets, we’ll end the day with what Teddy loves most—a long walk, a chance to sniff the world, feel the breeze in his fur, and enjoy the simple things. That’s what Teddy has taught us best: to cherish the simple joys, to live in the moment, and to always find reasons to smile.
