Why Is Teddy Sick?
Update
Why Is Teddy Sick?

We know so many of you have been worried and asking the same question: Why is Teddy sick? We want to share an update and be as honest as possible, because Teddy has always been surrounded by love—not just from us, but from everyone who cares about him.

Over the past few weeks, Teddy hasn’t been himself. What started as small changes slowly became impossible to ignore. He was more tired than usual, his appetite dropped, and his playful energy faded. At first, we hoped it was something minor—maybe stress, maybe a temporary stomach issue. But deep down, we knew something wasn’t right.
After multiple vet visits, blood tests, and scans, the doctors discovered that Teddy’s body has been under a lot of strain. His immune system has been working overtime, and that’s what’s been making him feel so weak and uncomfortable. The stress on his body caused inflammation and fatigue, which explains why he hasn’t been eating, playing, or acting like himself.

One of the hardest parts of this journey has been the uncertainty. Dogs can’t tell you where it hurts or what feels wrong. All they can do is trust you to help them—and Teddy has trusted us every step of the way. Watching him struggle while still wagging his tail when he sees us has been both heartbreaking and incredibly humbling.
The good news is that we finally have clarity. The vet believes Teddy’s sickness is something that can be treated with the right care, rest, and close monitoring. He’s now on medication to support his recovery and reduce inflammation, and we’ve adjusted his routine to keep him calm and comfortable. No intense activity, lots of rest, gentle walks, and plenty of love.
Right now, Teddy is stable. He’s resting more peacefully, drinking water, and even showing small signs of his old self again—like lifting his head when we call his name or giving us that familiar look that says, “I’m still here.” Those moments mean everything to us.

This isn’t the end of the journey, but it’s an important step forward. We’re taking things one day at a time, listening to the vet, and staying hopeful. Teddy is strong, and he’s surrounded by constant care and love.
Thank you to everyone who has checked in, prayed, and sent kind messages. Your support truly means the world to us. Please keep Teddy in your thoughts as he continues to heal. We promise to keep you updated—because Teddy isn’t just our family, he’s part of yours too.
For a While Now, Teddy Has Been Feeling Unhappy. When Teddy Returned from the Hospital…

For a while now, Teddy hasn’t been himself. The joy that once filled his days seemed to fade little by little, and anyone who knows him could feel it. His tail wagged less, his eyes looked tired, and the playful energy that defined him was replaced with quiet moments of rest. We tried to stay strong for him, but seeing Teddy unhappy was heartbreaking.
The hospital stay was especially hard. The unfamiliar smells, the strange sounds, and being away from home took a toll on him. When Teddy finally returned from the hospital, we were relieved—but we also noticed something had changed. He walked in slowly, carefully, as if the world felt heavier than before. Instead of running to his favorite spots, he paused, looking around like he was trying to remember where he felt safe.
At home, everything was exactly where it had always been, yet Teddy moved through it differently. He curled up in corners he hadn’t chosen before and stayed quiet for long stretches of time. It wasn’t pain—it was sadness. A deep, emotional tiredness that came from everything he had been through. Watching him like that hurt more than any diagnosis ever could.
We stayed close to him every moment. We sat on the floor beside him, spoke softly, and let him take the lead. No pressure. No expectations. Just love. Slowly, he began to respond. He rested his head on our laps. He sighed deeply, the kind of sigh that releases fear and tension. Those small moments told us he was healing—not just physically, but emotionally too.
There were nights when Teddy would wake up and look around, confused, as if checking to make sure he was truly home. Each time, we reassured him with gentle touches and whispered promises that he was safe. That we weren’t going anywhere. That he didn’t have to be brave anymore.

Healing doesn’t happen all at once. Some days were better than others. But each day, Teddy showed us his strength in quiet ways—a soft tail wag, a longer walk, a spark of curiosity returning to his eyes.
For a while now, Teddy has been unhappy. But since coming home, something else has returned too: hope. And with patience, comfort, and endless love, that hope is growing stronger every day. Teddy, we’re so proud of you—and we’ll be right here as long as you need us.
