“I’m excited to announce my new EP, Scooter & Friends, drops July 18th!” McCreery wrote in the caption. The EP will feature collaborations with several other artists, including the singer’s single, “Bottle Rockets,” featuring Hootie & The Blowfish. Earlier in the month, the Opry’s official Instagram called the track “the song of the summer.

However, that’s not all the singer has in store for fans this summer; as Billboard reported, he’s also making the leap to SiriusXM host this July. This new opportunity will give fans an inside look at the country music McCreery loves.


McCreery Will Host a Monthly Show Featuring Hand-Picked Songs

The monthly show, “Prime Country With Scotty McCreery,” will kick off on July 5th and focus on country music from the ’80s and ’90s. As the singer told Billboard, music from this time period is right up his alley. “I love country music from every decade,” he said. “But the country music of the ’80s and ’90s is probably my favorite era of music.” This comes as no surprise, considering her dug in Hootie & The Blowfish’s 90s catalog for “Bottle Rockets.”

Each episode will feature songs curated by McCreery himself, and the singer plans to share special details about his choices with fans. “I’ll be sharing stories of how an artist influenced me,” he explained. “Or how I met them, or something we may have experienced together on the road or backstage at an awards show or the Opry.” Fans are sure to hear some never-before-shared tales from McCreery’s lifelong relationship with music.

McCreery officially became an Opry member in 2024, and it was clearly a meaningful achievement. “This was little Scotty McCreery’s dream come true tonight,” the singer said at his Opry induction. Since then, he has performed at the storied venue on multiple occasions, including in early June 2025.

In light of his membership, McCreery plans to bring some of the Opry magic to his “Prime Country With Scotty McCreery” episodes. “Every month I’ll also be sharing a live Opry performance that was recorded on that legendary stage during the ‘80s or ‘90s,” he told Billboard. His choice for the first episode? A 1997 performance of ‘Pick Up Man’ by Joe Diffie. Fans can find the show on SiriusXM’s Prime Country at 3:00PM EST.
