U.S. Strike Destroys Drug Submarine in Caribbean, Trump Says
President Donald Trump announced that U.S. forces destroyed a “very large drug-carrying submarine”
in the Caribbean, killing two suspected narco-terrorists and capturing two others.
He said the vessel carried “fentanyl and other narcotics” toward the U.S.
and claimed the strike “prevented as many as 25,000 American overdose deaths.”
“No U.S. Forces were harmed in this strike,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding,
“The United States of America will not tolerate narcoterrorists trafficking illegal drugs, by land or by sea.”
Two survivors were rescued by the Navy and are being held aboard an American warship.
The incident marked the sixth U.S. interdiction since operations began in the region last month.
Trump also confirmed authorizing CIA missions and Air Force “show of force” flights near Venezuela.
Republican lawmakers, including Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar,
renewed calls for harsher penalties—up to the death penalty—for fentanyl traffickers.
